NHL Rumors and Speculation
- 950AM KJR Seattle: Seattle Kraken president Tod Leiweke on their timeline of hiring a head coach said he thought it was Ron Francis’ notion that they’d wait until the end of the season because some candidates could become available that they didn’t otherwise anticipate.
- Sportsnet: Chris Johnston says that if the Ottawa Senators don’t want to keep Ryan Dzingel, he’ll probably be flipped at the deadline for a draft pick.
- The Athletic: Rick Dhaliwal is reporting that there are teams from Switzerland calling the agent of Sven Baertschi but his plan is to stick it out in Utica (AHL) in hopes of a call-up.
- Sportsnet: Marc Bergevin expects Cole Caufield turn pro after this season and the Canadiens are working on getting Jordan Harris to go pro as well.
- Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman said recently that he thought Nashville Predators GM David Poile checked the market for centers Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansen but there wasn’t much there. He added that if they could move them, they would and that it sounds like there are some changes coming with that club.
- Sportsnet: Wayne Scanlan says both the Ottawa Senators and Derek Stepan both regret the trade that sent Stepan to Ottawa and he could be moved before the trade deadline.
- The Athletic: The Pittsburgh Penguins have a bit of a logjam on the left side of their defense and one of Mike Matheson or Juuso Riikola may have to be moved says Rob Rossi.
- Pro Hockey Rumors: There’s a small chance that John Moore gets moved by the Boston Bruins but as it stands, it’s more likely he stays with the club according to Brian La Rose.
- Florida Hockey Now: Jimmy Murphy says keep an eye on John Gibson. Newly hired Brian Burke has connections to Anaheim and Gibson is a Pittsburgh kid.
