NHL Rumors and Speculation
Pierre LeBrun (TSN): The Nashville Predators will continue to listen to offers up to the deadline, but the urgency to make a trade isn’t the same as it was before.
- He also named Josh Manson (ANA) and David Savard (CBJ) as two good fits for the Winnipeg Jets.
- The New Jersey Devils will make one last effort to reach an agreement on a contract extension with Kyle Palmieri.
Jimmy Murphy (Boston Hockey Now): Wonders if Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf could reunite with Brian Burke in Pittsburgh due to injuries.
Conor Garland (Arizona Coyotes): says with regards to the trade rumors involving his name, “That’s none of my concern. It is what it is. It’s part of the game.”
Brian La Rose (Pro Hockey Rumors): Ryan Dzingel, Erik Gudbranson, Logan Brown, Mike Reilly, Braydon Coburn, and Josh Brown are Ottawa Senators to watch at the trade deadline.
Eric Francis (Sportsnet): Says plenty of teams could line up and make a pitch for forward Sam Bennett, as the Calgary Flames’ playoff hopes fade away.
Mark Spector (Sportsnet): Suggests the Edmonton Oilers could use defensemen Ethan Bear or Caleb Jones as trade assets if the price is right.
- Ryan Dzingel, Brandon Sutter, and Luke Glendening could be on Edmonton’s radar at the trade deadline.
Jonathan Willis (The Athletic): Says right-shot centres like Travis Boyd (VAN), Luke Glendening (DET), Derek Ryan (CGY), and Brandon Sutter (VAN), as trade options for the Edmonton Oilers.
Farhan Lalji (TSN): Is reporting that some Canucks players have become “very ill” and the medical staff has gone to some of the players’ homes to administer IV treatments.
Ansar Khan (MLive.com): Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman could get offers for goalie Jonathan Bernier and Luke Glendening, but may be hesitant to move them.
Darren Dreger (TSN): Multiple teams are reportedly calling on Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen.
Elliotte Friedman (Sportsnet): The Toronto Maple Leafs have called the Buffalo Sabres on goalie Linus Ullmark.
Mike Harrington (Buffalo News): “Kevyn Adams is dreaming if he thinks he can hold out to get a first round pick for Taylor Hall.”
Arthur Staples (The Athletic): The New York Islanders have been connected to both Dustin Brown (LA) and Nick Foligno (CBJ) in the rumor mill.
Jordan Hall (NBC Sports): Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton was recently added to TSN’s trade bait board. He is a pending UFA who could get a good return.
Andrew Gross (Newsday): New York Islanders young forward Kieffer Bellos could be a good trade candidate at the trade deadline.
