NHL Rumors and Speculation
- Chris Johnston (Sportsnet): The QMJHL is pausing all games through January 3rd and the SM-Liiga has suspended play until December 19th.
- John Shannon has said that the WHL may push their start date back to February.
- Andy Strickland (The Athletic): “Everything you hear and see from both the NHL and the players, it seems like we are destined for a 48-game season. Mid-to-late January or early February start.
- iSport.cz: Florida Panthers new signing Radko Gudas says he has been in touch with local club Sparta Praha and could play for them until training camp starts.
- Frank Seravalli (TSN): The NHL’s focus and preference is still to open the 2021 season in all 31 NHL arenas. A hybrid bubble option is the current backup plan.
- Shawn Simpson (TSN): As it stands, Tim Stutzle will come to Ottawa after the World Juniors. He hasn’t been released by his German club, Mannheim, but it seems that is nothing more than a formality.
- Cam and Strick Pod: Blues GM Doug Armstrong on Jay Boumeester,
- “I would love to work with him… I would love to get him to do some scouting for us in the future.”
- Sportsnet: Gary Bettman says the focus is to find a way through this season so the NHL can get back to normal by the start of 2021/22, with the help of vaccinations.
- Michael Russo (The Athletic): Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin informed forward Marco Rossi and his agent Tuesday that they will loan him to Austria for the World Juniors.
