The Edmonton Oilers have started making moves already with two signings.
Edmonton Oilers close to signing Mark Letestu to a 3 year deal. Edmonton also on verge of long term deal with Andrej Sekera #TSN

I wrote about Sekera earlier today here and I’d heard murmurs of Letestu but I couldn’t be sure. I guess with the trading of Boyd Gordon a spot opened up for the right-handed Letestu.
According to Hockey-Reference.com the native of Elk Point, AB’s career corsi% sits at 50.2 and his career PDO is 99.3. So that tells me he’s a solid two-way forward. Last season he won 52.9% of his face-offs, so that is a plus for the bottom 6.
Hearing #Oilers and Andrej Sekera is a 6 year deal at $5.5M per #TSN

I figured this would be the price point for Sekera. I was hoping close to $5 million but this is acceptable in my opinion. What are the Oilers going to do on that left side? There’s a helluva logjam going on there right now with Klefbom, Sekera, Nikitin, Nurse, and Reinhart.

Letestu do Edmonton done

It’s 3 years on term but the price point hasn’t been released yet on Letestu but free agent day has started off with a bang for the Edmonton Oilers! Peter Chiarelli is a man on a mission and as an Oilers fan, I’m loving it!
Stay tuned for more signings!
